"Seeing what was once just a collection of ideas in my head come to life in my newly released book has been incredible. Since I had no prior experience writing books, I am incredibly thankful that Tamelynda was by my side while we worked together to edit, refine, and raise the writing standard from the initial draft to my final copy. Tamelynda is detail-oriented, kind, and a very patient editor. She is a true professional in her craft. What I appreciate most about working with Tamelynda is that she always ensured that my voice came through in the writing and that the tone stayed true to the message I intended to convey in my book." ~ Karen Dubi, Author

“I was very impressed working with Tamelynda on completing my book. She did a wonderful job on editing, including rewriting and restructuring sentences and making suggestions that not only made sense but enhanced the reader’s experience. She is dedicated to the process and goes the extra mile and it shows in the reviews the book is receiving. When you work with Tamelynda you get more than a book editor, you get a writing advisor. I look forward to working with her on future projects.” ~ W.T. Hamilton award winning author, speaker and business consultant.
"Working with Tamelynda was amazing. Even though I have written numerous books, she went beyond correcting my errors, helping me clarify my message and share more effectively. My latest book has earned five-star reviews, thanks in part to her fantastic editing. If you plan to self-publish, hire and work with a professional editor. Tamelynda is my first choice for future publications." ~
Dr. Richard Nongard, author of Excellence in NLP and Life Coaching (Amazon)
"When you work with Tamelynda, you get way more than her editing services. She is patient, kind, and knowledgeable and WILL help you get your book out of your head into the world.
Tamelynda went over and beyond to edit my book and become a partner in the whole process. I was able to write with more ease and confidence, knowing that I was in good hands. She considered and understood the intentions behind my words and helped me refine my voice.
Tamelynda was detail-oriented and methodical. She is a great communicator. I appreciated that she took the time to explain and guide me through the process instead of simply giving me the end product. I learned a lot through working with her."
Jacqueline Y. Chu, author of Facing Your Anxiety: A Personal Guide to Freedom from Anxiety (Amazon)
"So grateful to announce that my book, The Promise won another award! This means a lot to me because I really stepped out of my comfort zone and took some big risks in the way I wrote this book.
I had a vision of how I wanted it to be and I followed through with it.
I want to thank Tamelynda Lux for editing this book."
W.T. Hamilton, author of The Promise (Amazon)
"I had the idea for writing my book quite a long time ago but wasn't sure how to get my collection of thoughts to turn into a book. Tamelynda's guidance was invaluable in helping me make sure the book was readable and got the information across to the reader all while making sure that my voice was never lost in the process. In addition to being an invaluable editor she helped me get through all the details of formatting and making sure files were ready to upload to Amazon and Ingram Spark, all while I was also managing the illness and death of a close family member. This book would not have been published without her help."
Shanti Duncan, author of Treatment For Youth With Sexual Behavior Problems (Amazon)
"Tamelynda's input significantly contributed to the flow and clarity of the material in my book. Her most important contribution was challenging how the material was organized, which ultimately caused me to revise sections of the book for better flow.
In addition you can also expect close attention to editing formality. All-in-all Tamelynda is an excellent editor."
Glen Personey, author of Any Fool Can Complete an Acquisition (Amazon)
"As a first-time author, I had no idea what it takes to turn a manuscript into a self-published book. At times I felt like a ‘deer in the headlights’ with all the decisions, tasks, and timelines, but the best decision I made was hiring Tamelynda as my editor. Tamelynda’s excellent editing skills, expert guidance, and her support and caring made this a positive experience. As an editor, Tamelynda is professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and, most importantly, committed to the author’s vision and voice. As well as editing, Tamelynda pulled together the resources I needed for proofreading and formatting, held my hand through an anxiety-provoking process, and made it seem easy. I felt like I was working with a trusted friend. Because it was such a positive experience, I will write more books and plan to have Tamelynda edit them all! She is a true gem and I would highly recommend her services. "
Niki Hughes, author of Radical Self-Love: Live a Vibrant Life Beyond Fear and Limitation (Amazon)
"Tamelynda was the perfect editor for me as I wrote my first book. She was encouraging and supportive. Equally as important, she was also honest with her suggested edits. She made my book better. From my first consultation with her, I felt like I could trust her guidance, and she did not let me down. She was always responsive to my emails, and she delivered the edits on the timeline she promised. Her fee is reasonable, and I will definitely use her services again on my next book."
Steven Davidson, author of Sexual Integrity: Finding the Courage to be Yourself (Amazon)
"I recently wrote my first book. My head was swimming with many questions, decisions to make, and so many details to figure out. Lucky for me, I found my way to Tamelynda Lux and hired her to edit my book. Wow! What a huge relief to be in the hands of a professional.
Not only did Tamelynda do an excellent job of editing the spelling, grammar, and structure of my book, she offered the most amazing advice regarding the sub-title, the purchase of specific URLs, and more. She is incredibly professional in her approach when working with clients. She was very forthright about the changes I should make. I was very relieved to be in such good hands with Tamelynda.
She is an excellent editor. She is also very helpful and knowledgeable about other aspects of self-publishing. Knowing that my book was in good hands put me at ease and allowed me to focus on other aspects of running my business. The final product delivered by Tamelynda was excellent. I highly recommend Tamelynda if you are looking for a premium editor to make your writing project the best it can be."
Debbie Taylor, author of Mastering the Law of Attraction (Amazon)
"Tamelynda has skillfully and, with the presence of joy about her work, edited three of my manuscripts. She took on the responsibility of editing two nonfiction books and one fiction book with her professional passion for producing the best literature possible. She skillfully helps the author unearth the necessary vocabulary and the appropriate sentence structure while at the same time keeping the essence of what the author is trying to say intact. She is a dedicated wordsmith with a keen eye, identifying what is needed to bring the author's ideas to life."
Yes, I too am an author. The book I published in 2021 is Bold Spirit Caring for the Dying and available on Amazon. My first book published and available on Amazon was in 2015.
"I had the pleasure of working with Tamelynda on my newly released book, Influential Rapport, Influence and Persuade in Work, Life, and Leisure. Tamelynda brought an incredible amount of insight and perspective to the book and really helped focus areas that might otherwise have been confusing to the reader. Her ability to clarify key points definitely made the book better.
I would highly recommend engaging Tamelynda on your next project as every author needs a third party view to really help bring the book to life." ~ James Seeto author of Influential Rapport, Influence and Persuade in Work, Life and Leisure (Amazon) and The 5 Keys To Hypnotic Selling.
"As a new and inexperienced author in the process of writing a textbook for a very niche audience, I needed support and guidance to ensure that my book would be a high-quality product ready for publishing. Tamelynda Lux’s guidance throughout the editing process was an invaluable learning experience that has already improved my writing skills. By providing “fresh eyes,” she helped to resolve numerous errors I was overlooking. Her feedback helped me to communicate my message more clearly. I would recommend Tamelynda’s editing services to any serious writer about turning out a professional product. I plan to employ her services again in the future." ~ Wendie Webber author of The Devil’s Therapy: Hypnosis Practitioner’s Essential Guide to Effective Regression Hypnotherapy (Amazon)
"Tamelynda is professional and very good at her work. Grammar tends to be one of my weaknesses and a big reason I held back from writing. Tamelynda was able to provide for me just what I needed. She kept my voice and improved my writing while giving extremely helpful feedback. She is also very patient as I was new to this process and she was kind enough to guide me through it. I plan on using her for my next book!" ~ Becky Kronske author of You Are Your Soulmate: Choosing to love and accept all parts of yourself (Amazon)
"I was most appreciative of Tamelynda editing my book. She provided precise information, allowing me to decide what to do with her editing suggestions. She gave back to me a polished edited manuscript without hampering or losing my voice in the writing. Tamelynda shared her editing insights, bringing together what I wished to express with much greater clarity. She is a professional who understands the importance of allowing an author, like me, to bring my best to the written page." ~ Dr. Larry W. Cowan author of Taking Care of Self when no one else will (Amazon)
"Tamelynda was recommended to me as an editor after I had several bad, yet expensive, experiences working with strangers. I taught college writing for nearly 30 years and any writer knows that one cannot truly edit or proofread one's own work. I admit to being a little uncomfortable paying by the hour but Tamelynda fairly estimated her time and did a wonderful job. It was a pleasure working with her and look forward to working with her on my next project." ~ Joseph Onesta author of Uneasy Faith: How to Survive Religious Trauma without Sacrificing Spirituality (Amazon)
"Tamelynda Lux edited my first book, and there are several things that I appreciate about her quality and style of editing. She does not take away your voice. Each time she would complete a section of my book, she would send back the version that still contained the mark-ups to see the original with her suggestions, and also she attached the 'clean' version, which had all of her edits with mark-ups removed. Tamelynda is very detailed oriented and provided a wealth of suggestions throughout the manuscript with explanations and questions that prompted me to clarify passages that would enhance the reading audience's understanding. Something that was extremely wise of her is her advice on the referencing of scripture. I had no experience in this area of referencing. Finally, in addition to her price being absolutely fair and reasonable, she provided a scholarly level of editing that matched and surpassed many of my professors who served on my thesis and dissertation committees in graduate school. With Tamelynda Lux, you have the whole package of wisdom and input for the making of a great publication!” ~Joan Weathersbee Ellason, Ph.D. LPC author of Finally.......the How To of Forgiveness: A Three-Tier Approach to Dry Your Tears (Amazon)
"As one who has waited a while to become a published author, one thing I’ve longed to casually and comfortably say is, “my editor . . .”
Tamelynda Lux and I seemed to have connected and hit it off immediately. While we are geographically miles apart, our Zoom meetings always feel warm and personable. That’s exactly what I need and want when I’m engaged in something as intimate and creative as writing.
Of course, Tamelynda has the technical skills needed to catch and correct the too-often-there and overlooked grammatical errors. What means so much to me is her ability to collaborate and hear my voice in my writing and hold true to it in the finished results.
It’s been said, a truly talented dancer makes their dance partner look like a star. Well, that’s what Ms. Lux does as an editor.
I am fortunate and grateful to now have someone as gifted as Tamelynda Lux to call my editor! I look forward to many more dances."
"I found Tamelynda on the higher end cost-wise but, my book came out shining. As the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for" certainly applies here. On top of getting a nicely edited book, I got lots of knowledge out of the deal. I started with very little, next to none, and at least now I have a clue. Tamelynda helped me understand the flow of how it all comes together. Thank You Tamelynda"
"As a new author, I was looking for an editor and Tamelynda was recommended to me.
She immediately put me at my ease, explained the process of self-publishing, and even encouraged me to think of writing a workbook to go with the book I had written.
I had sent three chapters to another editor prior to meeting Tamelynda and felt that his suggestions made me lose “my voice.” Tamelynda did just the opposite! She offered a keen eye, constructive suggestions and the result is that I have a book of which I am incredibly proud. I can highly recommend her to any author looking for an editor with common sense and empathy (I think that because she is an author herself she has heaps). Thank you Tamelynda."
"Tamelynda reviewed and edited my children’s book (my first), and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. I am a former English and ESL (English as a second language) teacher, studied journalism, and thought I knew how to write. The good news is I can write, but Tamelynda’s keen eye and sense of the story really helped to polish the finished product. For one thing, she can see the story from the reader’s perspective and make suggested changes that round out the delivery of the content. For any author in need of comprehensive editing, I gladly recommend Tamelynda!" ~ Greg Gibbs, author of The Hummingbird That Could

My specialty is copy/line editing (steps 3 and 4 on the infographic below). However, I have done a number of developmental editing (step 2) projects which then flowed into copy/line editing. I also enjoy proofreading (steps 5 or 7). It's up to you to choose at which point in the life-cycle of the editing process you would like to begin working with me.
What you will find with my editing is that I am very detailed-specific. Several of my author clients have indicated that even though they have degrees in English and are proficient in their writing, they are glad they entrusted their manuscript to me because I picked up things they didn't see. How important is it for your book to be as good as it can be, as error-free as possible?
You will also find with my editing method that I am an assertive editor, making changes when needed and appropriate while also commenting and asking questions if there is something we need to discuss or I require clarification for. We communicate by email and Zoom, where I can share the screen and show the manuscript. This will benefit you because it's easy to understand when we look at the document and discuss it. Ultimately ALL changes are up to you the author. What impact would it have on you knowing that you are working with someone who really has cares about you and your message?
What is important to me is ensuring your voice is maintained because YOUR VOICE MATTERS. I am editing to elevate your message so that readers understand your message AND ensure grammar, punctuation, clarity, and flow are correct. Imagine having your completed published book in your hand, feeling proud that this, your book, clearly delivers your message while honoring your voice!

"Line editing, or grammar editing, remains important, regardless of genre or style. Fiction, however, has elements such as plot and characterization that need to be examined. Nonfiction elements include organization and clarity." ~ Author Learning Centre
